Now Watch

the now watchI love Eckhart Tolle’s take on time in The New Earth. Basically its futile and self defeating to focus on the past – because you have no power to change it and it happened how it was supposed to happen. And it’s futile and self defeating to focus on the future because you’re missing right now. Right now is the only time available to you to take action. Stop saying you’ll be happy when . . . .and just be happy. Take your action towards your goals right now because it’s truly the only time that actually exists.

I found this really cool Now Watch to remind us that now is the only time we should concern ourselves with. Tolle reminds us that to we have to be present. If we’re thinking about the future or the past then we can’t be present.

I read a book once that opened with the fact that the Hopi indians didn’t have any words to describe the past or the future – only the present. Really good book! One of its major themes was how they are all intertwined within our present state of consciousness.

“Sexing the Cherry” was the name of the book..I don’t remember the author. (the title is not sexual – it’s refering to the process of sexing cherry trees to make them produce fruit.

Love Eckhart Tolle, but this is the worst watch I have ever seen. :)
