Nude Gardening Fun for Some

So in the strangest gardening news I’ve heard in a while, Robert and Catharine Pierce, are claiming that they’ve been wrongly discriminated against because their landlord is trying to get them to wear clothing while gardening. Actually they are wearing some clothing. According the report, the couple are wearing thong underwear, plus pasties for Catharine Pierce.

How this is playing out – in case you felt like gardening nude yourself:
- The landlord, Boulder Housing Partners, says they’re being a nuisance, and they have sent the Pierces a letter saying they could face eviction if they don’t cover up.
- Neighbors are complaining to the police about the Pierces’ almost totally absent clothing.
- Police say the Pierces are not violating the law as long as their genitals are covered.
- The Pierces say the threat of eviction amounts to discrimination.
Wow. According to the Daily Camera, Boulder Housing Partners can choose to evict the couple if they don’t cover up. However, if the couple chooses to fight the eviction, ultimately, the municipal court would be left to decide whether their behavior constitutes a nuisance, a bother, or simply a chilly form of free expression.
Personally, I’m not sure where I stand on this, having never had to consider it, but one thing’s for sure, I bet they’re going through a ton of sunscreen.
What do you think? Is nude gardening simply relaxing fun or a step too far in the journey towards a nature experience?

These people may have the legal right to garden in the nude, but I believe in doing so they are not being respectful of those around them. If they would like to garden in the nude they should buy a privacy fence or a house in the country. There is a reason why people wear clothing when walking down the street. It’s out of respect for others. What makes this story even more interesting is that their home is just a few blocks from a school.
Interesting story.
