Nursery progress

My baby’s room now has walls. I’m not one to rush out and get something just because everyone else has it, but I have to say that putting up walls is one of the better ‘follow the crowd’ decisions I’ve made.nursery_studs.jpg

Tearing down the walls

Just to recap, I’ve torn out the old walls, ceiling and insulation down to the studs. I then had an electrician come in a rewire the room and re-insulated. I finished sheetrocking this weekend with the help of a neighbor and my dad. The floors still need sanding to removed the now embedded carpet padding that bonded to the hardwood floors beneath over the course of five decades.

The rest of the taping and join compounding needs to be completed, then the walls need to be sanded and painted. That aside, the room is beginning to look habitable.
