Firstly, the reporting that the Treasury Department is behind this is not quite accurate. The labeling responsibility for all alcoholic beverages falls under the Alcohol, Tax, Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), a division of Treasury.

Secondly, yes, after the close of public comments on October 31 (last time they did this, they extended the period), the TTB will have to mull this over, and I expect that nothing will happen for another 5 years.
