Obama Baby!

barackobama.jpgThe final votes of the Iowa Caucus are in, with 38% of the Democratic votes going to Barrack Obama.

John Edwards beat Hillary Clinton, garnering 30% and 29% of the votes respectively.

Mike Huckabee, the Arkansas Baptist Preacher, won on the Republican side. Mitt Romney, the Mormon Governor placed second.

All pundits agreed last night that Iowa’s results were a vote for Change.

The political “newbies” stepped in and represent a real shift in the status quo of American politics. Breaths of fresh air.

Scans of the audience at the candidates’ parties was the most eye-opening part of the caucuses for me. Where are the various sectors of America at?

The crowd at Romney’s party was noticably starched white males. Huckabee had Chuck Norris, action film actor, behind him. Hillary was joined by Madaline Albright, first female Secretary of State and hubby former-president Bill Clinton.

Barrack’s crowd was most representative of the people of America. There seemed to be thousands more of them and they were exploding with enthusiasm. They were younger than any political supporters I’ve ever seen participating (generally the young are apathetic at election time, even with MTV’s Rock the Vote), they were of all colors, they were of all walks, they seemed truly representative of America.

On to the New Hampshire Primaries on Jan. 8.

Good writeup! We’re trying to help too – check out http://www.obamababy08.com for “It’s time for a change” baby onesies (get it?) and other items. Proceeds after administrative costs go to the Obama campaign.
