Well, I didn’t expect my first real post here to involve politics or cancer, but I found it particularly touching that the man who may likely to be the next President of the United States just lost his grandmother on the eve of the election. She recently suffered with cancer and a broken hip.
According to CNN, Madelyn Dunham, Obama’s maternal grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home minutes before midnight Sunday, and Obama learned of her death this morning. She was 86.
In lieu of flowers, Obama and his sister have asked that donations be made to help in finding a cure for cancer. I recommend the American Cancer Society.
The photo in this post is dated 1979 and shows Obama with Dunham after his high school graduation.

Our hearts go out to Senator Obama and his family on the loss of his beloved grandmother. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
Maybe that could generate enough publicity and sympathy so he wins the presidency. Only bigger possible stunt is Mccains death.
