Ode to American Idol (my guilty pleasure)

Okay it’s not really an ode, but I’m way excited that the new season of American Idol started tonight! Unfortunately, I had to work through the first night, but I’ve DVR-ed it and am counting down until I can sit down to watch on Wednesday afternoon.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Hee hee, we get the German version of American Idol (Deutschland sucht den Superstar) here, and we watch it with great delight. We tell ourselves it’s educational (it helps us learn German, and about the culture), but really we watch to hear people who can’t sing and can’t speak English try to sing in English. And laugh our butts off at them. OK, so maybe a little guilty.

  2. My guilty pleasure … I watch Guiding Light each and every evening as soon as the kids go to sleep. When my seven year old lingered last night, I let him catch a glimpse of the show, but then had to explain, this isn’t real, you never find people in real life who leave their wife and newborn child because they are really in love with their cousin therefore causing the wife to leave the infant in the car because she is so desperate to get her husband back!

  3. I watch “American Idol” for the first couple weeks because of the bad singers. I lose interest once the good ones are chosen.

Dirty Jobs! :D The host isn’t bad on the eyes and some of the stuff is just too funny.

    Without a doubt:

    The Style Network.

    Shows like:
    The Look for Less
    How Do I Look?
    and Fashion Police

    intoxicate me!

Other than this channel, I don’t really watch much TV.

    Great question!
    truly,
