Off the Top of My Head – An Introduction

My name is Laura Bzowy, and I am the “new” writer of Baldiness. Since this is my first post, I thought I should tell you a little bit about myself. I have blogged for the Science and Health Channel of b5media for a little over a year now. My other b5 blog is called CFS Squared -Tales of CFS, and is about my journey with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – and how I try to live positively with a chronic illness.
CFS is my connection to hair loss. While I have a somewhat full head of hair these days, this has not always been the case. As recently as last year, I had to cut off a whack of my hair, because not only was it falling out by the root, but was breaking off mid strand. The back of my head was a mess! Neither my doctor nor my stylist could help me figure out why. This is how I was introduced to Baldiness, and the Bald Man himself helped me realize that chronic fevers could cause hair loss (I was suffering from mono at that time – and fever was a very present symptom).
Anyway, with my stalking of this blog and a little interference from Hsien – Cory ended up doing an interview with me, which you can read here. It’s been almost exactly a year since I was introduced to this blog, and now I am going to write it. Isn’t it funny how life turns out.
I have lots to learn about living confidently without hair – and the issues that come with it. But you should know that I am really excited to be here- and I think we are going to get along great!
So now, that you know a bit about me….maybe you can leave a comment and tell me a bit about you. I can’t wait to get to know you guys.

Yeah, I am excited as well. Look forward to everything you have to share!
Thanks Kendra
Can’t wait to find my rhythm and start groovin’
Congrats! Take care of the place.
Bald Man,
I hope you visit slightly more than often.
Or at least be lurking somewhere close, so I can find you easily. Will need a bit of a mentor, for at least the first little while, and I absolutely can’t think of anyone better
Congratulations on the new digs, Laura! It will be interesting having a woman’s perspective on hair loss.
Pssst. The link to Eye on DNA is broken.
As for Bald Man, even if you leave Baldiness, you’ll still be bald and I’ll still be stalking you.
