@Jo, actually having lived in Humboldt a long time, I get it. There it was “no mud slides” – I’ve never been to Houston though, and before I read this, had no clue about the flooding. I’m glad I don’t live there, it seems like there are too many weather extremes.

Hey–in Houston, where people had to kayak or swim to work at the medical center a few years ago, “This home never flooded” is a huge selling point.

I live a couple of hours north of Houston, and let me tell you–when we get the frog-drowners typical of spring in Texas, we tend to watch the water come up over the curbs and wonder whether to move the furniture to higher ground.

That’s my DREAM HOUSE! Well, pretty close. I’m not crazy about the paneling in the bedroom, but otherwise I LOVE wood paneling, especially in living rooms/dens. I love 70s decor!!!
