Oh Those Solar Homes

I do envy those who own homes that utilize the energy of the sun as their power source. I mean, sure, they had to shell out extra during the time when their homes are built but in the long-run, they would not have to worry about all those electricity bills that could shoot straight right up to the roof.I even find those who have a photovoltaic solar power system, or the PV system for short, quite lucky. I mean, they can convert the sun’s energy into usable power and they can also store the power for use in the near future. I mean, just how wonderful is that?
Ryan Wiser is the author of the 2006 Solar Energy Report of the Solar Energy Industries Association and he says, “The vast majority of the solar PV installations occurring in the US at present are in California and New Jersey. Many other states also have aggressive programs to encourage solar photovoltaics but the results in California and New Jersey probably deserve particular note.”

I found a great posting on calculating your cost and savings for a home solar system. http://www.getwithgreen.com did a review of online solar cost calculators and discussed the pros and cons of each. The article was under their solar section.
Please note that Israel is one of the most advanced countries for solar energy.
For many many years all homes and many institutions use solar energy for heating water. Electricity is used for heating only on cloudy – overcast days in winter. It is a basic and inexpensive system.
