Ok, I’m officially whining: My neck HURTS

As I said to my husband – it’s my blog and I’ll whine if I want to…

I’m used to back pain, I’m used to joint pain, I’m used to migraines…. I am *not* used to this awful pain in my neck. (I posted it about it earlier in the week: Posts may slow down for a bit) It hurts something awful. It started like a “crick” in the neck, but now it’s the muscle that goes from the back of the neck and down. It’s a holiday weekend so nothing is open in terms of acupuncture or anything like that. Plus, my acupuncturist is busy and it’s hard to get a quick “I need you now” appointment.

I won’t do chiropractics on my neck. Lower back, I’ll do – my neck I won’t. Being Easter Monday tomorrow, I don’t know if any therapeutic massage places are open and, to tell you the truth, although I love a good massage and have benefited from many, I don’t know if it’s a good idea to get a massage when the pain is still acute like this.

I don’t want to call my doctor – it’s just a sore neck, albeit very painful, and I definitely don’t want to sit in an emergency room – it’s not an emergency. So I’m left with my heating pad, my over-the-counter meds, which aren’t doing a darned thing, and whining.

It definitely affected my weekend. I didn’t get much of the stuff done that I wanted to. I slept horribly so I’m fatigued and crabby. But I am grateful that I was able to do some things. My oldest son came over for Easter dinner so the five of us had a nice supper that I was able to put together and I did start organizing my new sewing room. So, I guess it was some give and take. I didn’t get everything done that I wanted but I did get the important stuff done – a dinner with the people I love most in the world.

It’s almost 10 pm my time so I think I’ll try to get some sleep. I do have a ton of work to do tomorrow. Hopefully, no more whining either.
