You know, the sun has been talked about so negatively the last few years, that we forget it’s actually good for us sometimes. One source says more time in the sun could help “older people to reduce their risk of developing heart disease and diabetes.” The sun exposure helps older people get the vitamin D they usually lack. Not enough vitamin D is related to metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease.

The study did not say how many minutes in the sun each day would be beneficial, however.
