olive1.jpgRemember Olive?

She is the nearly 108 year old Australian blogger from The Life of Riley.

She blogs about her life with the help of her good friend, Mike.

Olive and Mike have been talking about The Great Depression, and, how the good part about it was that people really helped each other. I got an e-mail from Mike, and, he was hoping some of you might have Great Depression stories that have been passed down in your families.

If you do, be sure to share them at The Life of Riley.

Even if you don’t be sure to stop in and greet Olive, she loves her comments, and, enjoys seeing where all her visitors live.

I read about you over at BusyMom’s blog. The only Great Depression story that I can recall is about Toilet Paper. There was a specific way to fold a single sheet of toilet paper for maximum usage. Apparently the man’s family was only allowed one sheet per trip to the bathroom. I am very greatful not to be in that situation at home though I have had the misfortune of experiencing lack of supply in public restrooms.

  2. I spotted your blog and really enjoyed reading your posts–loved your idea for the reality show! I also write about the sandwich generation and would appreciate any input you can give me as I’m a “newbie”. Thanks, and I look forward to reading your blog.
