Olympic Games for Young Readers!

Summer reading and writing is daunting but when parents can tie it into the fun things like television and sports it can be fun. As a teacher I used to tie reading into television by making my students watch their favorite sitcom and outline the plot structure. They were amazed that sitcoms followed the same structure as the books we were reading in class.

To adults it is basic, to kids…amazing. But sometimes to get the to read or do homework you have to make it fun.

So, here are a few fun things to brush them up before school starts. Have fun with the Olympics!

  1. Thanks for some great topical ideas that will engage students. I teach ESL, and the students really love to talk about current events and topics. Naturally the Olympics has come up , so I appreciate your content , and plan to incorporate some of these ideas with them.
    Cheers!
