We already know that onions contain quercetin, an anti-oxidant that has been demonstrated to help combat colon cancer, as well as cancers of the esophagus, mouth and throat, colon, breast, ovary, prostate and kidney. And it doesn’t stop there. I came across another article showing that, although they can bring you to tears, the many other medical reasons you should eat more onions.

This is important to know because onions are fairly high in carbohydrates as vegetables go. I have heard from readers who find that eating a dish rich in onions will cause a rise in their blood sugar, but clinical studies show that over time, onions lower blood glucose levels.
