Online Safety Book for Parents

June 17, 2006 by Heather Goldsmith

With more and more teens going online to publish their diaries and journals parents have been worried. Finally, there’s a guide for parents concerned about protecting their children using blog sites such as MySpace.com.

The authors, Dale and Kevin Farnham, published the book because of concerns for the safety of their children in using MySpace.com.

The book is aimed at both parents and teens. Read more on the topic here. Read excerpts from the new book on the publisher’s website, HowToPrimers.com.

This is a very timely topic, especially considering the series of sex predator stories currently being aired by Dateline. It is truly frightening to see how many sex predators are out there waiting to prey on children and teens lured to them in online chat rooms. Some of what is posted on MySpace is deeply disturbing. All parents should acquaint themselves with it in order to better protect their children.

  2. I’m a parent to three children. On reading the news of this book I knew I had to share it with other parents. Thanks for commenting. :-)
