Oprah University Contest

anewearth.jpgI’m giving away a copy of A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose (Oprah’s Book Club, Selection 61)by Eckhart Tolle.

I want to send it to you ASAP so you’ll have it in time to sign up for Oprah’s free class deconstructing the book.

The course will be taught online at Oprah.com, you can sign up for Oprah’s bookclub right now. The class is on Monday’s at 9/8 C starting March 3.

I am half -way through the book and I love it. It’s the deconstruction of the self as you may not have thought of it before. It reminds me of my critical theory courses in college. The part I’m on right now is about the ego and how it sabotages our happiness.

If you loved Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia by Elizabeth Gilbert or Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav, you want to read this book.

If you want your soul to awaken to your own purpose, you want to read this book.

Leave a comment. I’ll draw one comment out of a hat. If all goes well, you’ll have your copy of A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose (Oprah’s Book Club, Selection 61) in time for the first day of Oprah University, for first Monday in March.

Contest closes on Sunday, Feb. 17 at midnight. I’ll announce the winner on Monday. Good luck!

  25. phillywriter says:

used to love Oprah, but lately find her to be a little much. I make the joke that with all the answers to life’s riddles that maybe she’s actually God. But lately, starting with the death of my mother, my life has been particularly blah and nothing I’ve tried has worked so I figured what the heck. I even decided to blog about it (mynewearth.blogspot.com) to hold myself accountable. Oprah, I really hope you know what you’re talking about

  26. Diane Shattuck says:

i need to read that book for my soul to be heal and forgive

  30. Tracee says:

suadu it’s not too late to take the couse it’s every monday night fpr 10 weeks.

any bookstore should have it – even Sams and probably Walmart.

  31. Marye says:

I read “My Stroke of Insight” in one sitting – I couldn’t put it down. I laughed. I cried. It was a fantastic book (I heard it’s a NYTimes Bestseller and I can see why!), but I also think it will be the start of a new, transformative Movement! No one wants to have a stroke as Jill Bolte Taylor did, but her experience can teach us all how to live better lives. Her TED.com speech was one of the most incredibly moving, stimulating, wonderful videos I’ve ever seen. Her Oprah Soul Series interviews were fascinating. They should make a movie of her life so everyone sees it. This is the Real Deal and gives me hope for humanity.

  32. tess says:

    Not an analysis

Derrida states that deconstruction is not an analysis in the traditional sense[43]. This is because the possibility of analysis is predicated on the possibility of breaking up the text being analysed into elemental component parts. Derrida argues that there are no self-sufficient units of meaning in a text. This is because individual words or sentences in a text can only be properly understood in terms of how they fit into the larger structure of the text and language itself. For more on Derrida’s theory of meaning see the page on differance.
