organzing your sewing room

Keeping my fabric and notions organized seems to take constant effort for me – I usually store everything in large, clear plastic tubs or storage towers with drawers. My thread is stored in drawers on top of my sewing table and I keep things like elastic and trims in another tall set of drawers next to my sewing machine.

Despite my best efforts to keep everything tidied away – I don’t… I’m a very visual person and love to see how fabrics look next to each other, what happens if you put that trim or lace on them. That just seems to mean that my fabric spends a lot of time hanging around, looking pretty :-)

This video has some great ideas for keeping your studio or sewing room organized and neat – now I just need the time to reorganize everything…

Thanks for the tips! Perhaps you can (or have) posted the fabric cover directions?

    Hi Jennifer,

Several pattern companies make patterns for shelf covers – you can also just draft your own patterns from the measurements of the shelf. The patterns are definitely the easiest way to go :-)
