Okay so you can’t buy these anymore, which makes me really sad, because actress Diane Farr and her best friend had created a greeting card company for those not-so-Hallmark moments in our lives.
Other Announcements has some really funny ideas for making those announcements to friends and family that you’re just not up to doing via the phone: Divorces, wedding cancellations, broken engagements, gay/lesbian children, even plastic surgery!
The broken engagement card for women cover reads simply: “Single.”
Then you open it up to read: “Picked the wrong guy. Gave him the wrong finger. Thanks for your support.”
Isn’t that fantastic?! I really love this idea, but for some reason Diane and company have stopped the presses. I’d love to see someone pick up the ball on this!
That broken engagement card – funny!
One time I had a friend who was fired from a job they hated and I sent them a Happy Independence Day! card. It was meant for the 4th of July, but I thought it fit.

Thanks. It’’s all in the way that you look at things. She’s got a great job now and feels much more fulfilled.
Getting fired, though, very scary.
