PA Residents – Infertility Legislation Introduced

February 8, 2008 by Gabrielle

I received the following email from RESOLVE: the National Infertility Association and wanted to share it with you:

Pennsylvania State Representative Josh Shapiro has introduced a bill, an amendment to House Bill 2026, to require Pennsylvania health insurance policies to provide coverage for the treatment of infertility. This is a chance for Pennsylvania to join the pro-family trend, as more and more states are now passing laws for the coverage of infertility.

We need your voice! Please call and e-mail the Insurance Committee members and ask them to support Rep. Shapiro’s Amendment to House Bill 2026. It is expected to go before the Committee on February 12. If you are a constituent of one of the Committee members, it is especially important that you make sure that he or she knows.

Click here to access RESOLVE’s online Advocacy Alert system and send a letter to the Senators listed below immediately!

There are 7.3 million men and women who suffer from infertility in the US. More than 268,000 of those couples live in Pennsylvania. Please help us make sure that Pennsylvanians have coverage for this disease and access to cost-effective and appropriate medical treatment. Send your letter and Take Action Now!

If you happen to be at the Harrisburg Capitol, you’ll see me there.

For more on the infertility insurance debate, check Cheryl Miller’s latest post (disclosure: I am mentioned). How do you feel about this issue? Did you take my poll?
