Pain drawing to help you and your doctor

Describing pain can be difficult – areas of pain can be vague, as can descriptions of the pain itself.

The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation has published this drawing for physicians to use to help them to better understand their patients’ pain. Click on the drawing to go directly to their site’s image to get their PDF image.

This pain drawing is exactly what I was looking for to keep a record of my pain areas for two weeks for my doctor. I am tired of him rolling his eyes when I mention the different areas of pain. He claims that last time it was somewhere different or perhaps I forgot i complained of that last time. let me assure you i don’t forget what hurts and when.
Thank you for the chart. i think he needs to see it in black and white on a daily scale.

At this website you can draw your pain onto a body outline of your choice, and the result can be emailed to your own email, or to that of your doctor.
