Parent-tested, parent-approved

Who says it’s easy being a smart consumer? With so many new products in the market and colorful advertisements left and right, how does a parent make smart buying decisions?
Having a positive (or conversely, negative) review about a product is a bonus, especially when you read someone else’s experience and recommendations of the product. This is where good product reviews come in. If a product has been vigorously tested and approved by other parents and like-minded consumers, I’m more likely to buy it because I know others like me have already put their two-cents into it and they know it works.
Well, there is actually a “consumer report” that is run, tested and approved by parents: PTPA Media, which stands for Parent-Tested, Parent-Approved.
Started in 2007 by two moms, the co-founders Sharon Vinderine and Kathy May of PTPA are dedicated to “discovering, appraising and promoting new products that enhance family life”. Manufacturers worldwide send their products to PTPA Media to review, which in turn send these products to a database of more than 11,000 parents across North America to test and evaluate. Those that pass are given the PTPA Seal of Approval, which you might already see on some of these manufacturers’ websites and product packaging.
Check out the PTPA list of winning products. These are some of the top-of-the-line quality products that you might already be familiar with, like Seventh Generation, Maya wrap, Booda Bellie, Bumbo just to name a few.
Now I really like the kind of resource that PTPA brings, because I don’t want to spend my money on something that would be crappy (i.e., not live up to my expectation), and like every parent I know, I love to tell others when something shines!
So watch out for some products that I’m giving away this week that has the PTPA seal of approval. You’re gonna love them, and for sure you know they really work.
