Parents are Freaking Out – TV’s Perfect Girl Is Pregnant
You know when the New York Times starts talking about it, it’s BIG!
TV’s perfect girl, Zoey is pregnant and parents all over are facing or have faced a very uncomfortable talk with their teens about teenage pregnancy.
Rumor is that Zoey 101 will continue and that somehow they’ll incorporate a “lesson” which is exactly what I think they should do. However, I certainly hope the media will focus on the pitfalls that Jamie Lynn Spears and boyfriend Casey Aldridge are facing.
Being a parent is difficult enough without allowing the media to glamorize or sensationalize it. Not everyone has the financial security at such a young age that Spears has. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
Personally I think canceling Zoey 101 would only allow parents to bury their heads in the sand longer.
It’s time to wake up and realize that, as scary as they are, statistics are showing the average age of first sexual experiences have fallen to the age of 12 and 13 now.

My 9 year old daughter, who watches the show, is devastated. What a disappointment to see such a popular role model make such poor choices. Maybe we need to rethink how much emphasis we put on these teenage girls as role models. As parents, we need to teach the values of abstinence to our little girls, starting at a young age. For those of you who think your kids are too young to hear the sex talk, maybe it’s time to reevaluate.
Welcome to reality. Even the rich and famous have to check in every once in a while.
i dont understand why some parents or so rude abut other peoples kids getting pregnant it’s not your kid so chill out. This is the Spears problem not yours and maybe it is a good thing their not canceling the show it will show up coming generations that this is aproblem that we need to fix.
