party clothes

I think I have the fabric & patterns together for two of the outfits I want to make!

The green is a lightweight knit I got for something like $2 a meter on a clearance sale (yes, I love bargains :-) )  The black is a really bold rayon print, but it’s so light & summery – I really like it.

I’m going to use Butterick pattern #4520 for the skirt (skirt A I think) and Butterick #3344 for the top (I’m still torn between tops A & B)

I’m using the same shirt pattern for this outfit, but I’m going to make the sleeveless top with the draped front, using the pink faux-silk knit.  The gorgeous sheer fabric is actually a gift from my mom and it’s going to be made into a shawl.  I’m just going to finish the seams and maybe put a decorative finish on the short ends.  I’m going to use Butterick pattern #4924  to make the skirt out of the pale green linen-look.

Time to dust off the sewing machine :-)
