Paying for Christmas

We’ve talked on this blog before about making the holidays less stressful by just making it LESS… less gifts, less cards, less hurried activities, less about things and more about traditions and people.
But part of being less stressed is having less debt. We try and be very frugal with our Christmas shopping, but even with that it’s had to see the bills come in for that month. I just caught an article that listed Ten Ways to Pay Cash for Christmas. I liked some of these ideas, especially getting a second job temporarily or selling things you no longer need.
We pay off Christmas by taking money out of savings, but one thing I’d like to start doing each year is preparing for it ahead of time so we have the cash and it doesn’t need to come out of an account.
How do you pay for Christmas? Do the Christmas bills sneak up on you in January?
