Peculiar Hobby: Fancy Fast Food

Fancy Fast Food is one of those websites you can’t help visiting to see what they do next. The site uses ingredients from fast food only to create beautiful-looking, though still unhealthy meals. The latest example of that is The Colonel’s Chicken Corn Chowder (Fancy KFC) using a two-piece breast and wing meal with biscuit and additional sides. The final creations always look so beautiful. It makes me wonder: Why cook from fast food?

On one hand the rules of Fancy Fast Food are intriguing. Create something that looks gourmet using only fast food. However, if you’re going to go through the trouble of cooking, why buy fast food? Ah, is it to get out of going to the grocery store? : )
Other recent creations on Fancy Fast Food include BK Quiche, Dao Mi Noh Chow Mein (Fancy Domino’s Pizza) and Tapas de Castillo Blanco (Fancy White Castle). The site even allows you to submit your own fancy fast food creations, but you must follow the golden rule: no additional ingredients other than a simple garnish. Just visit Fancy Fast Food and scroll to the bottom for more details on submitting.
Have you ever cooked from fast food? Have you re-dished restaurant food and tried to pass it off as your own?

It’s good to find great-looking food whether that is gourmet or fast food. That is why culinary arts school fees are so expensive. But there must also be a way to put some nutrients into those yummy things. Don’t you think so?
Hello Elmar.
Yes, I agree culinary schools are expensive! I once looked into pastry chef school, not so healthy, right? I think we’re finally hopefully starting to move in more of a direction of healthy food options at all restaurants. It’s just a matter of picking the healthy thing when you really want the fried chicken or hamburger : )
