People of Influence

Yesterday I heard the sad news of a friend, who I haven’t seen for years. He was stabbed at a party some time early Sunday morning. Although the doctors at the hospital tried to save him he died later on Sunday morning from his injury. A lot of people in my congregation knew him well at one time, so the news shocked a lot of us. This man was really influential in my life, especially my early years as a Christian; though it saddened me that he did not continue on that same path some years ago.

This got me thinking about the people who influence us in life. Some people we remember, but others have somehow influenced our choices, decisions or simply left a stamp on us that we easily recognise as belonging to them. Write about some of these people in your journal. Who has influenced your life, in any way? Choose just one and write about what they have brought into your life. Perhaps find a way to contact them, if you can, and send them a letter or just an email letting them know you appreciate all they’ve done.
