Pet Fashion Week

Well, the day that I’ve been planning for to the point of dimentia has arrived: Pet Fashion Week New York. This is a trade show that has a fashion show component, whereby design students have been invited to create haute couture outfits for dogs! — hilariously timed to take place about a week before the the New York (human) Fashion Shows in Bryant Park.

I know there are many readers who are vehemently opposed to treating dogs as accessories, and I am too. However, the trade show aspect of this event is sort of a coming out party for The Pet Set. We will be introduced to the media and to buyers as an influential player in the multi-billion dollar a year luxury pet industry.

Wow…that kind of sounds important when it’s stated like that…because in reality, I’m just one person, sitting at home in my scrappy office with my Chocolate Lab, Trotter…coming up with ideas and making myself nuts.

I have to go and set up my booth, which will take up most of today…then I switch on the lights tomorrow and Sunday.
