More on back pain – why so much? Because it’s one of the most common reasons for chronic pain in the industrialized world. People who lift and do heavy work can hurt their backs and, yet, many people who lift nothing heavier than a telephone book also hurt their back – that’s because of the constant sitting at a desk, most likely.

According to an article published in The Telegraph.co.uk, Tim Hutchful, of the British Chiropractic Association said that only 40% of people with back pain seek consevative – or orthodox – medical treatment. Many more suffer in silence or seek out alternative medicine.

A report published in the BMJ (British Medical Journal) stated that spinal manipulation and exercise programs can significantly improve back pain. You can read more about it here: Back pain: how to beat it.
