After the controversy sparked over the adoption of the name “Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum,” and after I watched TAPS declare the place haunted, I haven’t really kept up with what’s going on in Weston, West Virginia (and all around the nation) regarding the old mental health hospital.
It’s not that I’m not interested. I just haven’t heard anything new.
However, that’s not the case with Mental Health Notes readers, Jason.
Jason recently journeyed to Weston to tour the hospital of a thousand names, and graciously checked in with Mental Health Notes to share a few details about and pictures of his adventures.
You can view Jason’s pictures online at his flickr account. I particularly like the pictures of the art on the wall, and…HEDWIG THIS IS NOT! (Actually, it’s pretty dang scary.)
