Pink Ribbon Giveaway: A Fujifilm One Time Use Camera

Yesterday’s review of the Polaroid i631 digital camera got me thinking about the benefits of disposable cameras … inexpensive, non-breakable, great for kids, disposable recyclable if returned to Fujifilm by your photofinisher … then I remembered, ‘hey, I have one of those … let me give it away’!
I have a QuickSnap 800 Flash One-Time-Use Camera — a pink-themed camera displaying the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s logo and mission and information related to the Images of Health campaign, 27 exposures, indoor/outdoor use — and I want a Pink Ribbon Reader to have it.
Here’s how to qualify for this contest:
- Check out Fuji Film’s Images of Health website.
- Pledge to get a mammogram.
- Leave a comment on this post indicating the name/location of the facility you will use to get your next mammogram. (If you don’t already know where to go, use the Fujifilm site to find a mammography facility near you).
Contest ends on Wednesday, June 11th, at midnight. I’ll post the winner the next day, randomly selected from all the commenters who followed the rules mentioned above!
Now, in case you can’t remember the guidelines for mammography:
- The American Cancer Society recommends annual mammography screening starting at age 40.
- The US Preventive Services Task Force and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists both recommend mammograms every 1 to 2 years for women 40 – 49 years of age.
- Women with a family history of the disease should talk to their OB/GYN about when they should start annual mammography — it might be as early as 25 or 30!
So if you’re young, do your research about when you should start, and assume you’ll be in the same general area when you require your first mammo, and let me know the when and where and you’ll be in the running. Good luck!
