Pizza On The Grill

If you don’t know already, I love pizza. We usually have pizza at least once a week. I could have it every day, but I try to use pizza as a weekend treat for eating healthy during the week.

I love to experiment with pizza flavors and toppings. During the summer one of my favorite ways to make it is on the grill. Well, lets face it, during the summer on the grill is my favorite way to cook anything, so I had to come up with some ways to make tasty pizza on the grill.

When I do pizza on the grill, I usually grill the vegetables separately first. Some of my favorite toppings to grill are large slices of:

• green peppers
• hot peppers
• roma tomatoes
• mushrooms
• onions
• eggplant or squash can also make great additions to summer pizza if you grill them before you add them to the pie.

I also like to grill sausage or pepperoni rolls before I slice them up and add them to the pizza.

There are special pizza grill pans, but you can put your pizza on a baking stone, or right on the grill. Grill your vegetables, then assemble the pizza like you normally would and slip it on the grill with a pizza peel. Bake your pizza with the grill lid down on medium heat until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
