Plastic Balloons To Solar?

Yes. That seems to be one of the biggest piece of news that I have heard in a while. And it seems like this kind of project is currently being worked on right now.

What has happened is that a company based in California has been working with plastic balloons to convert the sun’s rays into usable energy. This company is Cool Earth Solar. They have been using the plastic used in Mylar balloons as well as in the wraps of Pop Tarts.

Of course, they have not been blowing up the balloons to for solar power. They stitched all of them together and put on some aluminum. That has been the main ingredient so as to be able to bring in power.

This project is still a prototype though. But if this goes through, this will surely be something grand. It is going to be quite flexible and not just like the flat solar panels that we are used to seeing.
