Not that you should cover up in recycled plastic bottles at the beach – eek! See through and not very protective from the sun, but if you’re not wearing bottles you’re not up on your green scene. Last year there were the new Revenge Is tees made from recycled plastic bottles and now there’s a new plastic bottle tee on the market – A Lot To Say.
There are pros and cons first of all. Some think that upcycling and downcycling is not the best way to keep it green. But if you’re talking tees, I think it’s a decent idea because when a tee is spent (I mean seriously down to its last leg) you can use it to clean with until it pretty much disintegrates. A Lot To Say makes just such a tee; made from recycled plastic bottles and printed with AirDye technology, and there’s no PVC or toxins in the shirts at all. Additionally, 20% of proceeds of the tees go to the Green Energy Council.
Oh, and the tees are pretty darn cute. Well, some are cute. Some are a little edgy. They offer shirts like…

Also available are men’s tees, civil rights tees, yoga scene tees, and more (although at this time, there seems to be many categories with no tees at all; more of a coming soon ordeal). Tees are available in basic tees, tanks, and long sleeve, but few color choices (I saw white and black). One perk is that tees can be printed with text in English or Spanish.
