Please tell me we’ve all been “Punk’d”…

There’s a new book on the market called “My Beautiful Mommy”.

But wait.  Before you sigh and rush out to grab a copy for Mother’s Day, hold your horses (and your wallet.)

You see, this little pamphlet o’ drivel was created by a physician so kids could understand why mommy is headed to a cosmetic surgeon for elective plastic surgery.

The book explains that after giving birth, mommy needs a tummy tuck and nose job (huh?)  A boob job is implied (check out her new tomatoes by the ending) but never fully discussed.

When the daughter in the story is understandably upset about the fact that her mommy won’t look the same after all her nips and rips, her loving mama gently explains that her nose will be “not just different… prettier.”  (I’m paraphrasing… you can actually read more in this article by PopWatch blog.)

********V O M I T*********

Um, is Ashton Kutcher behind this?  Please?  I really want to believe that this piece of horse crud isn’t legit.  However, I can find absolutely no indications that it’s anything but serious.

This is sick, sick, sick.  What the heck is next?  “Why Mommy Pierced Her Vulva”?

I know. I was so shocked… but then I thought, “Well, it’s a realistic concern for some kids.” How pathetic, really. I could understand if the pamphlet had a more serious tone to it… MAYBE… but it’s so backwards and insulting. BLECH.

  2. I know! The sad thing is that it is a realistic concern for some kids today. And you’re right – it should have been done with a much more serious tone. I mean, even the cover of the book ticks me off. AND THE TITLE!!! “My Beautiful Mommy”?!?!?! I’d like to tell the author of the book that he’d do much better explaining to the kids that their mommies – and their mommies’ extra pounds – are beautiful because they carried them for nine months – NOT because they’ve undergone surgery.

Holy sh*t. Ang, I am so glad you didn’t add a copy of the cover of the book to your post. I just went and checked it out – appalling!! This HAS to be a joke, right? And am I reading right – it’s $20???

    I am honestly speechless.
