Please use birth control, even if you’re anorexic !

Most of you will not be surprised to hear what I’m going to say:
- You can get pregnant even if you don’t have your period.
Yep, it’s what everyone learns in junior high (maybe middle school). But for anorexics (and some bulimics), it’s worth repeating.
Why am I bringing this up? Well, a friend who is seriously anorexic and hasn’t had her period in 6+ years slept with a person a couple of months ago.
Now, she’s picking out baby names.
I’m very concerned because she has only just started to put on some weight and better her situation. I keep advising her to take it one day at a time and eat even when she feels nauseated.
Anyway… please use protection, especially if you’re trying to overthrow ana.

it is horrible. I always insist that me and my gf use protection to prevent anything bad happening.
um, wow, so i like to think of myself as pretty worldly/educated/street smart, but I didn’t think you could get pregnant if your cycle disappeared (or hadn’t started yet.) Good thing I dont have any daughters or anything cause they would probably be all pregnant and STD ridden by now.

KT: Don’t worry; it’s a common myth. And it usually is pretty unlikely, but why chance it?
great reminder. thanks for myth-busting. I know 2 women who got prego while anorexic.
