POM Tea – POM Springs
I’m a big fan of POM Wonderful’s Pomegranate Juice. It’s healthy, loaded with antioxidants, and delicious in cocktails, such as the POM Julep. I just got around to trying their new line of teas and I think I’m addicted.
POM Teas come in regular and six flavors and use the same antioxidants that are found in the pomegrante juice. They also have less caffeine than regular ice tea, but are just as refreshing. Flavors include Blackberry (my favorite), Peach Passion, and Lychee Green. For those who find the straight pomegranate juice too “tangy,” the tea is a milder, yet still tasty alternative.
POM teas also go well in cocktails. Below is a recipe, courtesy of the POM Wonderful people for a late summer festive libation:
POM Springs
Ingredients:
2 oz. Pomegranate Peach Passion White POM Tea
1 oz. light rum
1 oz. Myers’s® Dark Rum
1 1/2 oz. cranberry juice cocktail
1 1/2 oz. fresh orange juice
Garnish:
slices of orange, lime and peach
Directions:
1. Assemble all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.
2. Strain into a goblet or tall glass over ice.
3. Garnish with orange, lime and peach slices.
