Portable Cafe

Portable Cafe

The above pictures are of a portable cafe (yes, an entire cafe, plus living space).  The post I found the ideas (and the pictures) at is The illycafe, Illy’s Portable, Fold Out Café from the Kitsune Noir blog, posted by Bobby S.

I love that this is all built into an old shipping container.  The rust colored exterior belies a very new style interior.  Does anyone else hear the Transformers theme song?

I’d like to see a van that can do this sort of thing!  I’d only have one payment a month instead of two–if I could only find a parking lot that doesn’t mind if I set up camp…

This is pretty cool! My dad uses old 18 wheeler truck containers as his hay barns. Not quite as cool, but at least he’s reusing junk.

  2. If it works, then I say, “More power to him.”

Out of curiousity, did he modify them in any way?

  3. Anita says:

I’ll have to ask him, but I don’t think he did. They don’t have the wheels, and I know they are completely dry inside. Perhaps he did something to close any holes (he does weld).

  4. Thanks for the update!! I like the way he thinks.
