Portable Playtime Makes Packing Easy for Kids

After working a flight with way too many kids with way too little to do, I went searching for some kid-friendly airplane options. Whether it’s a long short flight or long, the kids are going to need some age appropriate activities to keep them occupied, and often to keep them from being too scared about what’s going on around them.
I like the Portable Playtime, a child’s backpack that converts into a play mat that has been designed to fit over the airplane tray table. You can take toys, books, and a variety of activities in the backpack, and it holds everything securely inside with zippers. Get one for each of the kids and let them be responsible for packing, playing, and re-packing their toys and other items. Toss in a few of their favorite snacks and they can stay occupied for hours.
Once on the plane, unfold the pack to make a play mat that attaches attaches to the tray table, with pockets hanging over the side to keep all those toys and items secure and within easy kid’s reach. No more worrying about coloring all over the tray table, nor about any germs that have been left behind by a previous seat occupant. And any loose game pieces or small toys can be self contained instead of rolling around on the floor.
The Portable Playtime comes in a variety of themes, including the vintage airplane themed, Aero-Playin’ (in photo). $45.95.
