Portland Fry Report
Due to an unforseenedly long break from New York life (yes, that is a word, leave it), I have been unable to begin my serious foray into Food Network experimentation and deconstruction. I have, however, rediscovered my passion for French Fries.
A couple of years ago, I wouldn’t really consider a meal full unless some form of friend potato was involved. Post-college, I relaxed slightly on this one, realizing that, well, the french fry obsession was a bit much. Recently though, the love has been reinvigirated–my dream in life is to start a one food blog, much like SliceNY, or A Hamburger Today, but about french fries. I would call it either “Lay Off Me, I’m Starving” (after my favorite line from the Gap Girls Skit on SNL) or “Mmm….French Fries…Drool”.
Last night, on the final leg of my west coast Tour De Force, I had some delicious Sweet Potato Fries from McMinamin’s Ringlers in Portland.
They looked something like this and were delicious:

my favorite sweet potato fries ever were served with a “spicy creamy cajun sauce”…if only i could figure out the recipe for that sauce!!! it haunts me…anyhow, what kind of sauce is that pictured with your fries?
Mmm, some sort of chipotle ketchup, but that cajun sauce sounds delicious…I’ll see if I can find a recipe.
