Pre-arranged Bouquets Make Lovely Gifts

You are headed out the door to go visit Grandma or Aunt Sue when you realize you’ve done it again. You’re empty handed. No worries, though. You’ll grab a bouquet from that roadside stand up the street as a little hostess gift. Perfect, right?

Well, unless the person you are visiting has severe allergies or is the Easter Grinch, you probably are right. However, an unarranged bouquet can mean some extra work for the recipient. I like to give bouquets already arranged in an appropriate vase so the hostess can simply take a few seconds to arrange them. (I’ve even been known to bring my own pre-treated water to fill the vase, so the hostess doesn’t need to worry about looking for her cut flower preservative.)
By the way, since I prefer a frugal lifestyle, I head to the garden instead of stopping at a roadside stand to get my bouquets. I make sure the flowers I pick are spider and ant free and then just arrange them as I would arrange a store bought bouquet.
Do you bring cut flowers to family or friends as a hostess gift?
