Pre-Order the Princess!

Meg Cabot’s reign as the Queen of the Princess is coming to an end this January. Okay, bad pun. But, it is true. Meg Cabot’s final book in the Princess Diary series is due out January 6, 2009; Princess Diaries, Volume X: Forever Princess.

I am sure you all fell head over heals for Mia Thermopolis in the first book, The Princess Diaries, Vol. I,  and with Anne Hathaway (our turn of the century Audrey Hepburn) in the movie, The Princess Diaries.

I love Meg Cabot, mostly because she is A LOT like me. I hated Young Adult literature when I actually was a young adult. I used to steal into the adult fiction (romances) just like she did because I could not find anything that was worthy of my time.

I’m not picky or anything but just like she states in her author’s note, there really wasn’t anything but teenage pregnancies or eating disorders to read about back then.

Now teens have great literature thanks to authors like Cabot who decided that Young Adults needed more than dull drivel.

I just hope Mia’s series isn’t overshadowed by Cabot’s next one. Wait, what am I saying?
