Pregnancy myths – busted!

Whether you call them myths or old wives’ tales, they can cause confusion and concern if they’re believed. Here are just a few of the pregnancy myths that abound.
While some may be totally wacky and you could wonder why anyone would have thought of it, others have their beginnings in reality or science, but got side tracked somewhere along the line.
Myth #1
Don’t sleep on your back while you’re pregnant. You’ll hurt the baby.
Truth: Healthy women with healthy fetuses can sleep in whatever position they find comfortable. There are some heart problems that a mother can have that would make lying on one side or on the back dangerous, but this isn’t the case for the vast majority of women.
