Pregnant women are great designated drivers

My wife’s baby shower was this weekend, and during the estrogen melee I went out for lunch and a couple beers with an attendee’s husband and a cousin of mine. The other husband, Josh, is also an expectant father and in the course of conversation brought up an infrequently mentioned gem of expectant fatherhood; pregnant women are great designated drivers.

I have posted about this phenomenon before, but it reminded me just how cool this actually is. My cousin was the DD on that day, and I don’t drink often, but it’s nice to be able to have a couple of drinks without concern for getting home safely.

Just beware that a pregnant woman in a hormonally altered state may be completely unamused by your intoxicated state.
