Pretty & stylish reusable grocery bags

I’m usually not a fan of polyethylene reusable bags; even though they are reusable, it’s questionable how recyclable they are at the end of their life and also there are other, more sustainable bag options. For example, you can get bags made of organic cotton, recycled cotton or hemp. However, that said, cloth bags are more expensive in almost all cases. Bags made of polyethylene are more eco-friendly than disposables for sure and because of their mateiral they’re more water proof than cloth, last a long time, and cost less, making them a smart reusable bag otpion for folks on a limited budget.
I’d rather see someone using a reusable bag made of a plastic material than someone using plain old plastic or paper grocery bags. If you’re looking for an inexpensive and pretty option, Mudlark has some seriously cool designs to ponder.

Those bags are really cute. I do agree that there are more sustainable options out there (and canvas bags do last a really long time, too). Another choice for days when you need waterproof bags is just reusing regular plastic grocery bags.
They are cute but do they roll up nice and small so you always have them with you on quick trips to the mall or drug store? Imagine how many times you could say no to plastic or paper when you’re shopping at Nordstrom, CVS, etc. Really, most people don’t have a bag with them at those times. I always use my nylon ones becuase they last a long time, save thousands of plastic bags with just one bag and still roll up really small to fit in my purse so I always have it with me. (mine is from bagnesia.com) I’ve tried the cotton or hemp ones but they don’t work as well- they stretch too much and the handles seem to get out of shape.
