Prius To Get Solar Panels

In a report I came across just today, I learned that the Toyota Motor Corporation is planning on adding solar panels on its Toyota Prius hybrid vehicle. This is going to be part of the company’s move to give just what consumers are demanding for – green cars that would help combat the worsening problem of the rising prices of oil.

Kyocera would be the company who would be creating the solar panels for Toyota. These panels, when installed in the Prius, would be able to give life to the vehicle’s air conditioning system.

The source of this piece of news is somebody connected to Toyota but chose not to be named. But this person did state, “It’s more of a symbolic gesture. It’s very difficult to power much more than that with solar energy.”

Will such a plan push through? What would the Prius look like then? Well, let’s all wait and see how this one goes.
