Product Review: Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch

Last week, I received a couple of boxes Nature Valley Nut Crunch Bars (Almond Crunch and Peanut Crunch) for review. At first I thought they were some new variation of chewy granola bars, but upon closer inspection realized they really were just roasted nuts held together by some syrup, much like peanut brittle, except that you hardly see the brittle part.

My husband loved it (unfortunately, my son is allergic to peanut and tree nuts so it was off-limits to him) and had the lion’s share of the sample bars. Individually wrapped, the bars are great as a quick snack for those who are always on the go, or in my husband’s case, those who can’t spare the time to leave the office desk for a break. They’re a little bit sticky, so I would suggest to keep the bars in the wrapper while eating, pushing a bite-size portion as you go.

For the health-conscious, you may be pleased to know that these nuts bars contain 2 grams of fiber, or 8 percent of the daily recommended allowance, and no cholesterol. Aside from the health benefits of dietary fiber, nut consumption has also been linked to a reduced risks of heart disease. These bars definitely earned a place in my Healthy Snacks category!
