Today TripAdvisor kicked off the TripAdvisor World Heritage Campaign to help protect the places around the world that matter the most. As part of the two-year campaign, the travel site will donate up to $1.5 million of support to include a cash donation allocated to UNESCO World Heritage initiatives.
The World Heritage Convention, an international treaty enacted in 1972, identified sites of outstanding value to humanity. UNESCO World Heritage initiatives works to protect and preserve the sites for future generations. They also identify new sites that need protecting.
