Protecting Your Teens

Well, there are about a zillion things that you might want to protect your teens from and this is just one more. Apparently each time they color their hair, they should be doing a patch test. And yes, that is each and every time. I was just reading in an old issue of Allure that your allergies can change and in the case of one woman who had been coloring her hair for ten years, suddenly she developed an allergy. It was severe enough to bring about swelling of the throat and that is pretty scary! So be sure to pass on this information to your teens.

And when they do this patch test, they should look for reddening of the skin, an itch or a welt forming. And this might not happen immediately. It could suddenly develop 24 hours after the test.
