Psych-ic to me!

Let me start this post off by saying, I don’t have a huge interest in knowing my future before it happens. With the exception of really wanting to know that I will have a whole lot of really healthy days to look forward to, I don’t really need a preview of the rest…I can wait until it happens.

I have consulted tarot readers before, but only as a lark….no real belief on my part. However, a friend of mine is really into this kind of stuff. She consults a psychic on pretty much every important decision in her life. During my week off from blogging (you may have noticed, I made it all up today), I was involved in a sort of personal growth project. When it was finished, my psychic following friend decided that it would be a good idea to treat me to a reading. A reading with a real psychic (not one that you find at the amusement park).

So I went. I have to tell you, I learned some pretty interesting things…mostly after the reading was over though. I was really careful, not to give anything away. I barely said 3 words during the entire reading, because I thought she would pick up on my reactions.

Here are some of the things that I learned

  • Huge changes are starting to happen for me
  • From now on, life is about to get a whole lot better
  • Cutting certain people out of my life (which I just did last month) was a really good decision
  • I will be married….it will be a good marriage…he is a good man
  • A career change is in the works
  • Money will not be a problem
  • I will have 2 houses in 2 different countries (at the same time)
  • I will live a long life, and will not end up in a care facility

That last part, was the only thing she even said about my health. Which I am going to take as a good sign.  The interesting thing about this reading, is that all of this good stuff came up, but the cards themselves had really negative images on them.  Which I was told numerous times, that negative images don’t necessarily mean negative events.  Usually they suggest change.  I am told there will be a whole lot of change happening, starting over the next few months.

Change is good….I heart change!

We talked a little bit about my sleep problem after she had finished with the cards, she gave me a purple crystal to help calm my energy….must be working, I had a really difficult time getting out of bed today.

No wonder your friend goes to her, she tells people exactly what they want to hear! You don’t get repeat customers by saying “You’re going to get diabetes and lose your feet by 60.” I’m sure there are some real psychics out there, but this one sounds very suspicious to me…

I am skeptical about psychics in general. What made me believe this one, is what she said after the reading was over, not so much during it.

She had some insight into some things that had happened in my life…and put them in a new light.

I am sure that is how psychics get repeat business though, by telling their customers that they will live happiy ever after. And while some of that came up with me….it was more of transition reading. While the end result may be good…change is turbulent. But I am ready for a bumpy ride. Well, any ride would be good.

Who knows if there is any truth to what she said. And really, I don’t actually care that much.

Speaking of a bumpy ride, have you been to Womyn’s Ware yet? ;)

  4. laura says:

    ummm no.

I did write them a little email though, was hoping they could give me a tour. you know for first-timers.

I didn’t hear back from them. Too bad, I could have given them a nice little write up. Now they will have to depend on you, for free advertising.

Wow, sounds like fun not matter whether it makes any difference or not. A little light-hearted relief, and maybe some indication of positive things ahead.

By the way, how did things go with the falling over episodes and subsequent investigations? Any resolution?

  6. laura says:

Yea, it was a good time….its always interesting to find a little bit about yourself through the eyes of others.

I keep forgetting to update everyone on my falling episodes, so thank you for reminding me.

The doctors suspect that the falling is directly related to the amount of sleep that I am getting or not getting. The way that its been explained to me (over and over again) is that I am experiencing some form of a quick little seizure, a sort of little blip, where I kind of lose consciousness, it lasts for a few seconds, and then I am fine (just have to pick myself up off the ground).

Nothing horrible showed up in my last round of tests…there are some areas that they are going to keep a watch on….some abnormal brain wave patterns, but nothing that I need to concern myself too much with.

I am going to go back for another go round in a couple of weeks…will make a note to write about it, in more detail.

But for now, everything is fine, as long as I can maintain healthy sleep patterns.

Thanks for asking about it :)

  7. Ellie says:

Aw, good to hear it’s nothing major, although the impact of the falls could be a problem! Keep those sleeping patterns in good order then and I hope nothing more comes of it!

  8. laura says:

wish I could keep those sleeping patterns in good working order, but its 2 am when I am writing this. I should be sleeping.

    Can’t do it.
